3Suns
The
new definition of Soca can be found in hot young trio
3SUNS previously spelt TREASON.
This three- man sensation redefines Caribbean music
in a “lyrical coup” and works towards
overthrowing preconceived notions about music originating
from Trinidad.
Ace, Menace and Crym are part of a new generation
of artists taking the art of Caribbean music to new
heights. |
|
The
humble beginnings of 3SUNS started in the blue-collar, working
class town of Sangre Grande (Big Blood) in Eastern Trinidad
where Sherwin Jeremiah a.k.a. Menace, Olufemi Williams a.k.a.
Crym and Damian Oliverie a.k.a. Ace became classmates and
friends. Menace and Crym (short for Crazy Rhymer) were partners
in crime, together causing mischief in school. Ace, then
joined up with the other two to form the crew now known
as 3SUNS. All three were natural born singers and decided
they could join together and collaborate on music. This,
of course, would lend towards a future in the entertainment
business. On their journey, 3SUNS came across producer Ken
"Shoroc" Holder who currently, along with his
wife Rachel Holder, manage and promote the group. Shoroc
produced the track "On de Promenade (Dah En Nuttin)"
which made a splash for Carnival 2000. The group came back
even stronger with the chutney-influenced "Kamasutra"
and "War Amongst The Stars" in 2001.
Ken
“Shoroc” Holder decided it was time for 3SUNS
first debut album entitled Insanely Gifted in 2002, which
opened up various avenues for this group in terms of getting
known by the world. In 2003, yet another year of establishment
this young group became the "Word on the Street,"
the title for their second album, but first album distributed
by VP Records. They are Definitely (2004 Album title) on
the way to Virtual Reality.

Members:-
Sherwin
Jeremiah a.k.a Menace
“MENACE”
is known for his aggressive and bold approach to his music,
which creates a rough edge to a smooth package. He is best
described as smart, cool, friendly, loving and aggressive
when necessary. His signature call "I'm a Bad Boy"
says it all. As the youngest member of this Sangre Grande
band, he value the sounds of Shadow, Cro Cro, Bounty Killer
and Busta Rhymes who have inspired his music career.
Olufemi Williams a.k.a Crym
"CRYM"
(meaning crazy rhymer) adds a crazy vibe to the troublesome
trio. He is the group's element of spontaneity thus making
it continuously wacky. Olufemi is best described as laid
back, easy going, crazy, animated and loving. This young
lad grew up in Sangre Grande jamming to Cro Cro, Iwer George,
The Wu Tang Clan and Scare Dem Crew.
Damian
Oliverie a.k.a. Ace
"ACE"
the oldest member, takes this business of group togetherness
very seriously and is called the wild card of the trio:
he is best described as the ladies charmer, dainty guy and
easy flowing. "Ace is always in place." Raised
in Sangre Grande, he was influenced by the music of Machel
Montano, General Degree and Bounty Killer.
