Neil
"IWER" George took the stage name "Iwer
George" and then proceeded to shake the very foundation
of the Calypso and Soca industry.
Iwer
reigns in the dancehalls of Trinidad and Tobago...
the undisputed Soca Kingdom of the Universe. "When I explode
unto the stage my mission is to totally entertain my audience.
The "ting" has to happen because I am prepared to die
to make it happen"
In
1987, this gifted and exciting singer/songwriter captivated
the party crowd when he exploded unto the entertainment
scene with "Boom Boom Time", which placed second in
the Road March Competition, but was the runaway favorite
of the populace. This song earned him the permanent title
of the "Boom Boom Man". That year Iwer also took home
the coveted award for the best Nation Building Calypso
with "Times Hard, Hold Tight".
Iwer
then defied the critics and surpassed the monumental success
of his debut year. Since then he has given the world
hits like "Na Do Dat", "Look de Ting Deh", "Party Hot",
"Jump and Wine Up", "Choque It", "Jock Yuh Waist and Wine",
"Pan in de Dark", "King Ah de Dance", "Iwer Dance", "On
ah Bam Bam", "Yes Iwer", "Wine on Yuh Property", "Jump
and Dunk", "Ah Reading", "Tractor License", "Wine Up Competition",
"Bottom in de Road", "Iwer and 1/2", "Party Ram", "Carnival
Come Back Again", "Celebrating Carnival" and "Horn Meh
Nah".
Iwer
is in demand throughout North America, Europe and the
Caribbean, where he continues to excite audiences.
He is the yardstick against which dancehall soca is measured.
If originality and dedication are indeed the foundation
of success in this industry then Iwer George will reign
as "KING AH DE DANCE" for many years.
