Maddzart (Raeon Primus)

November born Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Entrepreneur Raeon Primus is the second and last of the two siblings from his mother, Irene Primus. He began singing at the tender age of seven, representing his school in various competitions doing folk, gospel, and other childhood sing-alongs.

It was not until 2000 Vincy mas when he did a Soca remake of Sisco's "thong song" the "town song" with the band Blaksand and placed second in the local soca monarch competition, that regional and International recognition was achieved, doing performances in Barbados and Grenada and was well rated in North America and England.

The year 2001 proved to be even more successful for Maddzart, with his major hit "Poor people song": the song that gain him the first ever local Ragga Soca monarch title. His other major song is the "helicopter", this gained him the second place (again) for Soca monarch and third place in the road march competition. 2002 he once again managed to maintain his place in the top three of the Soca monarch positions with his wind song.

Maddzart proved himself as a songwriter in 2002 when he wrote, produced and arranged "Cant stop we" for Aretha who pulled the second position in the junior Soca monarch competition that same year. He also co- produced 4 other songs for other artists including "wine pon me" by "Moralis" a 2002 Soca monarch finalist. and is very active in the production of most HottSand Phaktor's songs especially those which he pens or performs. He is now the 2003 Soca monarch and road march 3rd place with his song "Motorcade"

In Maddzart's personal music collection which consist mainly of local (Vinci music) both Soca and Dancehall you will also find music from Bon jovi, Creed, Xtatic, Rupee, Atlantik, Krosfyah, Bunji Garlin, Peter Tosh, Beenie Man, Fugees, Latin music and various artist collections with his favorite singles.

Even though Maddzart does not have any role models there are persons whom he admires and look up to, e.g. Adrian Bailey for his versatility. Anthony "Rebel" Bailey (who performed guitar and back vocals on the poor people song): for his writing and guitar skills. Machel Montano and Iwer George for their energy and stage presence.
