Tribal Knights Announces Deep Rising as their 2008 Theme
Thursday, February 22, 2008 - Award-winning Toronto-based mas band Tribal Knights is back for CaribanaTM 2008! Fresh from a 2007 Band of the Year title (Category B) in their first year out the gate, Dexter Seusahai's team of professional mas-makers is ready to make a splash with a unique and intricate display of creativity and colour.
Emerging from the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea are the myriad treasures of the marine universe. Tribal Knights 2008 presentation of Deep Rising promises to splatter the Lakeshore Boulevard with every imaginable delight found from the reef to the shore. Masqueraders can choose from 8 brilliant sections.
Deep Rising is about recognizing the complexity and beauty of all the treasures that Caribbean people possess. Who better to bring it to you than Tribal Knights? This metaphorical presentation illustrates our passion and resilience, through the peculiar species, gems and characters that populate the life-giving waters
It's time for the kiddies to arise from the deep too! The 2008 presentation aims to continue a tradition of passing the baton of carnival arts to future generations. Children play mas for FREE!!! "We just want to continue the trend we started," says bandleader Dexter Seusahai. Commited to his vision, the trail-blazing band has decided to up the number of free costumes to 250 for 2008.
