BACCHANAL JAMAICA PROMISES MORE FETE & MORE FUN FOR 2008

Kingston, Jamaica, March 7, 2008 - It has been a phenomenal start for Bacchanal Jamaica and if the jam-packed Friday night fetes are any indication of what’s to come in the final month, socaphiles can expect an electrifying carnival 2008. Boasting impressive turnouts at each and every Bacchanal Friday, patrons have sang along to Alison Hinds, partied in the Digicel candy shop, sampled all the tasty drink concoctions and day dreamed while Sparkles Disco played the latest tunes for carnival 2008. But how shall Bacchanal outdo itself when the energy has already reached a fevered pitch? Simply by doing it bigger and better.

As carnival moves into the final month of activities, Bacchanal rolls out its arsenal of colossal events. First up on the roster of behemoth events is the revamped Bacchanal Blocko, an oldie but goodie from the days of Raiders Jouvert. Happening on Wednesday, March 19 this old style blocko puts a new style twist on the traditional road block fete. The streets of Avesbury Avenue shut down for patrons to jump, wave and get on bad at this soca street dance. Tickets can be purchased presold at the Mas Camp or at the gate for $500.

Following is the soca lovers dream fete Bacchanal Beach Jouvert happening Saturday, March 22 at James Bond Beach. It’ll be more fun, more fete, more paint and definitely more bacchanal as this one of a kind affair brings jouvert to the beach. This year’s plans for the beach festivities include a foam pit, mud pit, martini shower and did we mention paint, paint and more paint. Straight out of Trinidad and Tobago, headlining entertainment will be Imij & Co. and Destra Garcia with the Atlantik Band. Additional musical juggling provided by Sparkles Disco and DJ Switch fresh from Trinidad. Ticket prices for this not to be missed event remain at the 2007 price of $3500 presold and $4000 at the gate.

Next up on the calendar is the beach fete Soca @ De Sandbar held on Wednesday, March 26 at Lime Cay. Over the years this cool out fete has become a favorite for socaphiles as they flock to the sands to wuk up some more before the big day. Sail over to Lime Cay to chill out with some friends and dance the day away till the sun goes down.

Continuing the madness is Bacchanal Jouvert’s Nitemares. Mas Camp goers get wicked and wild for this anything goes fright night party. Erupting on Friday, March 28, jouvert gives patrons the opportunity to kick up their feet, whine down to the ground and let loose before carnival day. Helping to get the crowd into a frenzy will be Trinidad’s 2008 International Groovy Soca Monarch winner, Shurwayne Winchester with Traffik. It’ll be an all night affair laced with lots of surprises and even more giveaways. Get painted from head to toe and watch the sun come up while marching through the streets of Kingston.
