INTERNATIONAL REGGAE AWARDS AFTER-PARTY HOSTED BY REVIVAL REGGAE SUNDAYS
Brooklyn, NY – Revival Reggae Sundays will host the official after party for the 27th International Reggae & World
Music Awards (IRAWMA). On Sunday May 4th, the reggae awards will take place at the world famous Apollo
Theater followed by the after party at Lox Lounge in Fort Greene Brooklyn. The 27th International Reggae Awards
and the after party will include a multitude of top reggae and world music artists.
Performers and presenters will include; Beenie Man, Ky-Mani Marley, Shaggy, Doug E. Fresh, Tarrus Riley,
Machel Montano, Freddie McGregor, Junior Reid, Etana, Billy Ocean, Miss Jamaica 2007, Macka Diamond,
Lady G, Buju Banton, Claudelle Clarke, Tony Rebel, Lady Ann, Dean Fraser, Winsome Benjamin, Queen Ifrika,
Mutabaruka, Cecile, Shelia Hylton, Janet Hubert, and Dwight Pickney.
The 27th International Reggae & World Music Awards evening will kick off with a red carpet and VIP reception at
6pm, awards presentation and performances at 7pm and a star-studded after party at 10pm. Special presenter for
this year’s event is Janet Hubert, best known as “Vivian Banks” from the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”. Other
presenters and nominees will include Ziggy Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Rihanna, Jay Z, Kanye West, Wyclef Jean,
King Sunny Ade, Sly and Robbie, Youssou N’Dour, Toots & the Maytals, Beres Hammond, Daddy Yankee, Marc
Anthony, Shakira, Angela Kidjo, Femi Kuti, and Jah Cure.
Revival Reggae Sundays takes place at the all new LOX Lounge located at 15 Putnam Avenue in Fort Greene,
Brooklyn. The weekly dance party has been hailed as “the revival” of the New York reggae scene. Revival
Reggae Sundays features an all-star line up of New York’s premiere djs including DJ Silence of 107.9 Flava FM
and DJ Jase of Pointblank Sound. Reggae Sundays has also hosted many live performers including top reggae
artist Ky-Enie, Barbadian songstress Toni Norville, Riddim Nation and Judah Tribe.
Events are currently underway and presented by New York City’s premier reggae event company SAi
Entertainment. All events are sponsored by Uzuri Hair Essentials a new line of products created specifically for
