Fashion lovers take heed; Benedicto hits the runway with a vengeance!
Toronto – Benedicto Designs is gearing up to launch its summer line like never before. This time, designer Juliana Corona aims to transform Yorkville with a much needed splash of colour and you are invited! The inaugural runway event featuring Corona's stylish and affordable pieces for women, men and children will take place at the luxurious Intercontinental Hotel, 220 Bloor Street West inside Proof Bar and Sky Lounge at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008.
The evening will be hosted by poet/journalist Karen L. Richardson aka "Nurse Karen". Partial proceeds from the fashion showcase will go to Voices Ghana, a youth-centred global human rights organization working to include the input of young people in policy discussions regarding public heath and well being. With four years of stunningly classy creations under her belt, Juliana is excited about producing her first runway show. "My clothes reflect inner happiness, so I hope they give women and men permission to be truly who they are," says Corona.
Drawing on her rich Afro-Peruvian heritage for inspiration, Juliana embraces elegant hues that enhance the inherent beauty of people of colour. The young wife and mother of two studied fashion at the International Academy of Design. There she expanded upon the cache of skills that first got her sketching as a teenager.
Benedicto was launched in 2004 focusing on quality, versatility and innovation.
