QUEEN ANGIE TO DEFEND RING BANG CALYPSO TITLE

Ring Bang Calypso Show to feature all new releases

St. Kitts, May 13th 2008 - The organizing committee of the Miss Personality and Marvelous Queen and Ring Bang Calypso show highlighted today that the show will feature all brand new releases by the islands top calypsonians. The Ring Bang Calypsonians began practice in earnest on Tuesday evening at the Legends Band bandhouse at the OOJJ’s gas station. The show, which is expected to feature at least 10 of St.Kitts-Nevis’ top calypsonians , will undoubtedly be of a high standard as has been suggested by a number of factors including the quality and professionalism of the band in addition to the fact that all songs will be brand new.

Based on the track record of most of the confirmed participating calypsonians the early favorites will undoubtedly be national calypso show finalists and former Ring bang Queen Anastasia in addition to  I- Soursop and Big Lice as well as veterans like Forrest, Quantash and Neglector. Others like Magoo and Newsflash will also provide some excellent songs and performances.

Defending monarch Queen Angie will however be making a stoic defense of her coveted title. Angie was spectacular in last years show beating names like Big Lice, Forrest and I-Soursop.

“Its been a different experience for me over the past 12 months , particularly after winning the Ring Bang title last year,” said Queen Angie. “Winning the show last year gave me additional exposure and experience and I am sure it no doubt enhanced my stage presence and performances in subsequent shows including the Green Valley Calypso Show where I placed 1st runner-up. “I am looking forward to defending the Ring Bang title and I will definitely be making a strong defense of my Ring Bang title,” she continued.

The Ring Bang Calypso Competition takes place on Saturday May 24th as part of the annual Miss Personality and Marvellous Queen and Ring Bang Calypso Show.
