Skinny Fabulous wins SVG Soca Monarch
Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines - Sunday July 6th, 2008 - Split responses from the sold out crowd at Victoria Park last night clearly showed majority support for either Skinny Fabulous or Fireman Hooper. However, after the smoke cleared it was Skinny Fabulous who came out on top, dethroning the six-time Soca Monarch and defending champion, Fireman Hooper.
"It was a matter of having the right tune and the right time and place. This was my year to show that I have all the ingredients to be amongst the big boys", says the newly crowned champion.
Skinny Fabulous will automatically qualify for the bMobile International Soca Monarch Finals which takes place during Trinidad & Tobago Carnival in 2009 and will receive a $100,000 TTD appearance fee.
