Jamaicans continue to dominate athletics in Beijing, as Usain Bolt and Melaine Walker claim gold in the 200m and the 400m hurdles
Wednesday August 20th, 2008: Beijing, China - In back to back races, Jamaican sprinters once again came out on top at the Bird's Nest in Beijing.
Usain Bolt completed the double-win in style by setting a new world record with a time of 19.30 seconds in the 200m to break Michael Johnson's mark of 19.32 set 12 years ago. Bolt, who claimed the 100m in world record time of 9.69 on Saturday night is the first since Carl Lewis (in 1984) to win an Olympic sprint double.
Moments after compatriot Usain Bolt won the men's 200m in a world-record time, Jamaica's Melaine Walker went on to set an Olympic record with a time of 52.64 in the womens 400m hurdles.
Today's wins bring Jamaica's medal tally to 7 (4 gold, 3 silver).
