Spragga Benz son killed by Kingston police

Carlton Grant Jr.

Kingston, Jamaica (Monday August 25th, 2008) - 17 year old Carlton Grant Jr. more popularly known as 'Carlie' or 'Little Wayne' from the movie (Shottas), son of veteran dance hall artiste Spragga Benz (Carlton Grant Sr.) was killed by the Police in Downtown Kingston Jamaica early Sunday morning.

According to a local news source (CCN), members of a police party patrol stopped two men on a bicycle along Church Street. Upon approach, one of the men pulled a gun and fired at the police who returned fire. The men took off and after the area was searched, Grant was found suffering from gunshot wounds and a .45 semi-automatic pistol was found in his possession. The injured Grant was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
