New Toronto artist, Stone, set to TAKE OVER music scene with “conqueror” produced by the award winning Stephen Cooks
Powerful vocals combined with a strong Caribbean influence and a natural lyrical flow, are the trademark of emerging artist, Stone’s debut release “Conqueror”. The song, which can be described as “reggae with an international vibe”, was written by Stone and produced by the award winning Stephen Cooks. Born in South Africa, Cooks of Sound Killah Productions has collaborated with artists from around the world such as Kardinall Offishal, Bon Jovi, Hugh Masekela and Simple Minds.
Stone’s first release is reminiscent of the music he grew up listening to on the Caribbean island of Trinidad. Kester “Stone” Duncan immigrated to Toronto, Canada in his early teens. It was then that his passion for music evolved while being exposed to the sounds of R&B, hip-hop and neo-soul. He describes “Conqueror” as motivational: “The message is meant to encourage anyone who is trying to advance their lives and conquer their dreams, no matter what they might be. For me, it’s my music.”
Ask Stone what musical genre he fits into and he will be quick to point out that his passion lies in music – all music. “Though I grew up listening to predominantly soca and reggae, I love all music, and my sound reflects that. For me, music is a creative process, and I never want to limit myself as an artist,” he comments.
For Stone, an accomplished DJ with Syndicate Supremacy, this is just the beginning; he looks forward to continue his growth as an artist, with his singing, song writing and production.
