Port-of-Spain, Trinidad - Monday February 9, 2009 - Kes fans can finally get their hands on a brand new album from the band! On Tuesday 10th February KES will launch their most anticipated third album “On in 5” at Woodford Café, Movietowne. “Woodford lends itself to a personal atmosphere and when we perform here, it’s our true fans that come out and ram out the place” laughs Kees Dieffenthaller, lead singer for Kes. The new album will feature brand new tracks for Carnival 2009, “Till The Morning”, “Thunder”, “This Feeling” and “We Own”, as well as favorites from 2008 such as “Right Dey” and “De Remedy”. You can also expect to hear the bands unique blend of music on the CD with songs such as “Come A Little Closer”, a song Kees, Jon, Hans and Riad wrote with writers in Los Angeles that became the theme song for the local series The Reef. Featured in this album are also some live recordings from shows that took place in LA. As a bonus, the band has included the music video LION that was shot last year in Mayaro by Eldon Pernel.
The name of the album “On in 5” was inspired from activities that take place backstage. “We always being told we “On in 5” when we are getting ready, so it motivated the whole feel of the album” says Kees. To prepare for the album, the band did a photo shoot with an LA photographer Eric Curtis. With some help from the bands main sponsor, Digicel, Eric was flown in to Trinidad in November. Eric has worked with actors and actresses such as Madeline Zima (from the hit HBO show Californication) and is also involved with film and television. Over the period of a week Eric shot the band in various locations and directed some incredible pictures. Some of the new pictures can be seen on the bands’ recently revamped my space page www.myspace.com/kestheband as well as on the immensely popular internet site Facebook!
“The launch will be a real family affair with our friends and fans, we are looking forward to having our new music out and available for everyone as we have worked really hard to put it all together” says Hans Dieffenthaller. We also want to say a big thanks to those who have believed in us and helped us, such as Digicel, Laing Transport and our hard working team and crew who go everywhere with us.
Kes the band is currently enjoying a great carnival season performing at most of the top events that are taking place and they promise to continue adding on to their already energetic and exciting performance.
The album will be available in stores later on next week, pre orders can be made through the bands management company Question Mark Entertainment at 868-624-2844.
