Bajan-Trini RENEE FORDE is a National Finalist for Miss World Canada 2009

Renee Forde (2009 Miss World Delegate)

Miss World is the oldest and largest national pageant that coined the motto, Beauty with a Purpose, which has raised funds towards Children’s Charities worldwide.   Being selected as a national delegate to be recognized with fellow Canadians for intelligence, beauty and charisma is an accomplishment Renee holds with great pride.

Renee’s parents immigrated to Canada from Trinidad& Tobago and Barbados, making her a first generation Canadian, born and raised in Toronto.   Renee is a highly determined and ambitious woman who comes from a family of trailblazers such as her uncle, Deputy Chief Keith Forde, who is Toronto’s first Black deputy Chief and highest ranking black police officer on the Toronto force. As well as, her cousin Senator Orville London who single handily runs the island of Tobago. 

Renee is a recent Broadcasting and Film graduate, and currently works as a Traffic Assistant. Renee aspires to be an influential Broadcast Journalist who brings awareness to human issues. Already having produced a national on-air story Renee vows to continue her passion for producing stories.

Renee is passionate about helping youth educate themself towards the right options for success and female empowerment. Renee has volunteered for community organizations, such as the Black Daddies Club, MCA Youth Group, Walk against Violence, charity fashion shows, and has held her 1st annual Family Day event for charity.
Renee enjoys modeling and has had the opportunity to work for a fellow Scarborough native, Jay Manual, from America’s next top model.  Renee has studied acting and is actively involved in her heritage cultural events. 

Miss World Canada competition takes place on March 20th & 21st in Toronto. The contestants will be judged on Swimwear, Personal Interview, and Evening gown.  Renee is hoping to be crowned Miss World Canada and go on to represent Canada at Miss World in South Africa for 2009.
