Trinidadian duo receives international recognition as “Move Your Body” music video gets nominated at the Much Music Video Awards
Toronto, ON, Canada – Wednesday June 17, 2009 - Soca artist Ghetto Flex has been recognized for his collaboration with Hip-Hop’s “JB” for the video “Move Your Body”. After its release in late September 2008, “Move Your Body” sky-rocketed to Much Music’s Top Ten within the first week. Now the MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS (MMVA) have nominated the duo for “BEST HIP-HOP VIDEO”. Sunday June 28 will be the judgment day for JB and Ghetto, who both have roots from Trinidad and Tobago.
Other multiple nominees include rapper on the rise Classified, piano driven pop rockers The Midway State, first time nominee Lights, and Much veteran K-os. Performing at the 2009 MMVAs are international superstars Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Lil’ Wayne along with MMVA co-hosts, the Jonas Brothers.
