Countries Confirmed for Caribbean’s most prestigious
Pageant
Basseterre,
St.Kitts (November 13th 2006):-Organisers of the
Caribbean’s Most Prestigious Pageant the Haynes
Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant announced the
confirmed participants to date for the 27th edition of
the event.
A
total of 13 countries from around the region have confirmed
their participation including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda,
British Virgin Islands, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Grenada,
Guyana, Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines,
Trinidad and Tobago , United States Virgin Islands and
hosts St.Kitts with Cuba expected to confirm participation
shortly.
According
to Chairman and Executive Producer of the Pageant, Mr.
Antonio "Director" Maynard, pageants organising
committee is working hard to produce once again one of
the best pageant shows in the Caribbean.
"Things
are looking positive and we want to take things to another
level," he said. "We now have Nevis back with
us after 15 years and we're now hosting Guyana for the
first time."
"We're
doing new initiatives, to push the show to a higher level
and this year we're going to have a bit more participation
than usual with the addition of countries such as Guyana
for the first time and Nevis making their return after
a 15 year absence," the pageant chairman said.
The
show has been synonymous over the years with spectacular
stage productions and guest performances and performers.
Machel Montana, Allison Hinds, Singing Sandra, Claudette
Peters and more as well as top Caribbean comedians and
personalities including Rachel Price, Tommy Joseph, Jennifer
“Jenny Jenny” Small among others have all
graced the Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant stage.
“As
always you can expect a great performer this and an even
greater stage show and production,” said Wallis
Wilkin Marketing and Guest Artiste Committee Chairperson
for the show.
The
show began in 1980 and is the only show of it's kind in
the region which showcases the talents of our female caribbean
teenagers.
