Great
things happen when urban entertainers give back...
On Sunday December 10th 2006, join Canada's premier entertainers
for an evening of live performances and Awards presentations
at the first Annual AroniAwards Gala. The Aroni Awards
Gala will be an inspirational evening that will highlight
role models of hope, people who reflect a positive state
of mind, and follow up their goals with positive action.
Aron Haile, whom the AroniAwards is named after, lived
a life that was exemplary of this. His personal achievements
were as great as his willingness to mentor and give back
to his peers. Although he easily excelled in academia
and was later accomplished, his love for people and the
arts gave him an avenue to forge many meaningful relationships.
Aron believed that you should help those of good character
who were already making an effort, to take the next step.
He did this selflessly with finances, counsel or his time.
Aron Y Haile, an African Canadian who died in 2003 at
the young age of 30, was an accomplished student, entrepreneur,
software developer, entertainment event planner, theater
arts enthusiast, and adventurer. On holidays from his
role as software developer at BMO, his short yet fulfilled
life ended in a vehicular accident while visiting an Archeological
site in Eritrea (East Africa).
Nominate
We honour his legacy with your support, to nominate candidates
for both the AroniMAGE Award and the AroniAwards Education
Grant. AroniMAGE will honour the unsung heroes of our
community who continue to work in their respective fields,
with a focus and dedication to community service. The
nomination process for the AroniMAGE Award is open to
the general public.
The AroniAwards Education grants will also be awarded
to nominees during the Awards Gala on Dec 10th 2006. Unlike
other Academics focused Awards, the AroniAward will focus
on presenting financial aid to students who lack the strong
academic points, however show strong dedication to community
service, a positive outlook, and continue to persevere
despite socio-economic hardships. Invitations to nominate
candidates are open to all Educators, Counselors, Social
Workers, Community Organizations and Educators. The candidates
will be students in their final year of High School and
committed to pursuing their higher education. An independent
committee comprised of Community leaders will determine
the final recipients of the 2006 Aroni Image Awards. Nomination
forms, guidelines and categories for the AroniAwards are
available online at www.aroniawards.com.
The Nomination period will close on November 10th 2006.
