Marlon Singh's Callaloo captures Junior Carnival 'Band of the Year' title.

July 22nd '06 - Saturday's festivities weren't dampened by the heavy rains as the annual Caribana Junior Parade took to the streets near York Gate mall. Thirteen of the Sixteen participating Caribana Mas bands brought forward spectacular kiddies presentations.

The most eye-catching presentations of the 'Juniors' were Jessie Matthew's 'The Awakening' and Marlon Singh's 'Exotic Species', but in the end the judges found Callaloo's 'Exotic Species' worthy of the 'Band of the Year' title. Callaloo has also won the title in 2005.

Marlon's 13 year old son, Shane Singh (who designed and helped construct his own costume) placed '2nd' in the 'King of the Bands' category. (see full results of the competition below)
