Son
of the late Tedder Eustace (also a 3-time Carnival King
- '75, '77, '85), Curtis debuted with 'D'Matador' in Barbarossa
in 1997 and edged out Geraldo Veira Jr. for the crown.
A repeat the following year would solidify the Eustaces
as a group not to be taken likely. Curtis is the only
King to ever win four consecutive titles. A win in 2006
would make it a record five consecutive and put him in
a tie for 1st place in all-time wins.
Curtis
gives much credit to his family members and especially
to his brother, Marcus Eustace, who also has numerous
King and Queen wins in Toronto Canada. A successful entrepeneur,
based in Toronto, Curtis is one the city's leading Caribbean
entertainment promoters. Teaming up with Bryce Aguiton
(De Island Boyz) and Dwayne Pitt (D'Bandit), the trio
have hosted several premier events such as 'Unite De Nations',
'All Ah We', 'Memoirs of Soca', 'Boarding Pass Fete' and
more.
Also
the newest Toronto Caribana Festival Mas bandleader, Curtis,
along with brother Marcus, recently copped the 'Band of
the Year' title in 2005 with their inaugural presentation
'Dis Is Paradise' from their band 'Carnival Nationz'.
Look
out for Curtis at the Queens Park Savannah as he attempts
to re-write the history books. Mas Prelims take place
on Feb 16, Semi's on Feb 21 and of course the finals on
Feb 26 at Dimanche Gras. A full list of official NCC (National
Carnival Committee) events is available on-line at www.toronto-lime.com/carnival/tnt_events.htm
