The swearing in ceremony was held at the Kings House and witnessed by several thousand attendees. An impressive list of of international dignitaries present included Prime Ministers from Barbados, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago.

After taking the oath of office, Mrs. Simpson Miller stated that her main priority of Government is crime reduction in the nation.
