Brooklyn, NY—May 15, 2006—On
Wednesday May 24, 2006, the Trinidad and Tobago Consulate
and Ma$tamind Productions will host " Many Voices
One Sound= SOCA". The evening will feature live entertainment
and new summer releases from some of Ma$tamind's artiste,
Chantwell, Lyrikal and Kevon. The event signals the beginning
of Ma$tamind Productions' global campaign to promote and
market Soca artistes based outside of the Caribbean. By
showcasing these artistes, Ma$tamind hopes to provide
the artistes with the exposure that will enable them to
reach their full potential. These new releases will be
featured on a compilation album scheduled to hit the stores
by mid-summer.
Ma$tamind Productions, an award winning
full range music production and management company, was
founded in 2005 by Natasha Andrews-Noel and Shawn Noel.
The company's production catalogue consists of countless
collaborations with today's leading Soca stars, a compilation
released for the 2006 Carnival season titled Da Ma$tamind
Project, and hosts of hits on the Estrogen, Nutmeg and
Pot of Gold riddims. Though based in Brooklyn, New York,
Ma$tamind caters to the Soca fraternity the world over
having released songs and albums throughout the Caribbean,
Europe and the United States. Shawn Noel, co-founder,
has won several industry honors including New Songwriter
of the Year from the Copyright Organization of Trinidad
and Tobago and Best Soca Compilation Album for the Pot
of Gold riddim from the Soca Awards Organization. Ma$tamind
has also been behind the tunes that garnered Bunji Garlin
the coveted International Soca Monarch title in 2004 and
2005. In 2006, Ma$tamind composed and produced the music
for Shurwayne Winchester's "Don't Stop," where
he made history by becoming the first artist to win both
Groovy and International Soca Monarch competitions. "Don't
Stop" was also featured on the Da Ma$tamind Project.
With so much accomplished in its short run, MM is set
to take the Soca world by storm yet again, so stay tuned!
