Major Manufacturers Schedule New Model Announcements
at Toronto Motorcycle Show
Toronto, Ontario, November 5, 2007 - Excitement is building as the major manufacturers prepare to launch new models at next month's Toronto Motorcycle Show. More than 165 exhibitors will meet more than 36,000 visitors when the show returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Riders are in for a real extravaganza since the Toronto Motorcycle Show is the official launch of the new model year and all the major manufacturers participate. It is the only event in Ontario where Motorcycle Moped Industry Council (MMIC) members set up their impressive corporate displays to introduce and showcase hundreds of new 2008 models to the motorcycling public. Visitors will see the latest motorcycles, scooters and ATVs from more than 25 leading manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, Buell, BMW, Ducati, Victory, Polaris, KTM, Vespa, Hyosung, Can-Am and Ural. Along with major retailers and distributors of gear and accessories, these manufacturers will present every conceivable product and service related to the motorcycle lifestyle.
Suzuki, Harley-Davidson and Buell have made the first of many expected new product announcements in advance of the Toronto Motorcycle Show. There are an astonishing ten new Suzuki models for 2008 including the GSX1300 Hayabusa, the GSX1300 B-King, the Boulevard C109 / SE / T, the RM-Z450 and DR-Z70. In 2008, Harley-Davidson enthusiasts will celebrate the company's 105th anniversary. Harley-Davidson will offer 14 models with a special package of 105th Anniversary features, including exclusive paint and accessories. The 2008 anniversary models expected at the show are the FLHTCU Ultra Classic Electra Glide, FLHRC Road King Classic, FLTR Road Glide, FLHX Street Glide, FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic, FXSTC Softail Custom, FLSTF Fat Boy, FLSTN Softail Deluxe, FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide (105th Anniversary model) and the FXDC Dyna Super Glide Custom. The Buell Motorcycle Company is set to break the convention of the superbike category with the Buell 1125R, an all-new, litre-class motorcycle that delivers an artful balance of street and track performance. Visitors are in for a special treat on Saturday at the Buell booth. Erik Buell, Chief Technical Officer and Chairman of Buell Motorcycle Company, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson will meet show visitors one-on-one and reveal where the company is heading over the next few years. Buell is responsible for the long-term strategic vision for Buell as well as all technical issues for the company, ranging from current product engineering support through future product design and information services.

In addition to the new model introductions on the show floor, the show will offer a wide variety of feature displays and entertainment that will appeal to all riders, regardless of age, gender or level of experience. It's She Rides Nite on Friday, December 7th. From 5:00 p.m. to closing at 9:00 p.m., all women will be admitted free, compliments of the MMIC and their members. She Rides Nite will feature an evening of special entertainment geared to females, including fashion shows, safety seminars and celebrity interviews, in recognition of the growing number of women who are discovering the riding lifestyle. Humber College will present a special program of riding seminars throughout the weekend. Topics include learning to ride, packing for trips and choosing the right bike or scooter. Special appearances will be made by Sergeant Lise Grenier, the Ride Master with the Ontario Provincial Police Golden Helmets, Vicki Gray, founder of National Female Ride Day and Trillium Muir, the World's Fastest Woman .
Youngsters will have an opportunity to receive expert instruction and ride a real bike courtesy of the Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA). The YRA was developed to teach young beginners the basics of riding off-road motorcycles. After receiving guidance from a Canadian Motorcycle Training Service instructor, youngsters can take a ride on the latest Yamaha TT-R off-road motorcycle.
It will be lights, music and action at the Parts Canada Red Line Fashion Review on the Boat, Bike & RV Trader Full Throttle Celebrity Stage. This sizzling fashion extravaganza will feature some of the hottest new 2008 riding apparel and accessories from major distributors and manufacturers.
Rider Nation showcases the wide variety of social activities open to all riders and offers an excellent opportunity to meet other enthusiasts. There will be displays and information on associations, clubs, rides and events for aspiring and experienced riders. The Canadian Peregrine Foundation will present an exclusive Bikes and Birds exhibit featuring live birds of prey including falcons, eagles, owls and hawks. The Vintage Road Racing Association presents Vintage Roadracers , an incredible display of rare and well-preserved racing bikes and sidecars from a bygone era. Visitors will be awestruck at the Inside Motorcycles Winner's Circle featuring championship motorcycles from the Canadian competition scene. Not to be missed is Motorcycle Mojo's Independent Alley displaying Canadian custom builders and their one-of-a-kind creations.
